How Do I Decorate a Hoop with Ribbon?
My favorite way is to use a double sided tape to apply the ribbon in its spiral around the hoop. You then need to be sure that the edges are sealed either with a spiral of gaffers or vinyl. With the double sided tape you don't need the entire ribbon to have it, just as you wrap up and around the hoop place a maybe 1" or so piece of the tape on the ribbon then wrap it around. You do have the option to cover the ribbon spiral with a layer of clear vinyl before you seal the edges. I like to do this with ribbon that is very light colored or porous. it is not really to keep the ribbon on it is for protection. The same way you can cover the fancy metallic tapes -to prolong their life and beauty. some people do not even use the double sided tape they just use the edge sealing technique to keep the ribbon in place but.....I don't know .....I really like the double sided tape technique. I hope this is what you were looking for. I don't really have any secrets these are just techniques that I apply to the art of Hoop Wrapping. I don't know if you have heard of HoopCity? http://safiredance.ning.com/ It is an online community for hoopers and there are discussion forums where people share this kind of information and ask questions. It is really a beautiful and supportive community if you are interested in that sort of thing.

Kristens GlowStick Hoops
I decided to suprise the girls by ordering them each a Glowstick Hoop made by our friend Kristen from Hoop City. She did a beautiful job crafting, taping and shipping the hoops and we have had so much fun with them. I want to order a set of minis for glowstick hoop- poi style hooping. How rad would that be?!

Collapsing your Hoop
Grasp the sides of the top connector,
Place your foot on the bottom connector.
You will be pushing down while twisting slightly
Press down until your hoop is in an Infinity shape on the ground,
Grasp the outer edges,
Fold in Like a Butterfly,
The Hoop will now be ready to go, you can secure the two circles with a ribbon or strip of velcro, usually we just tuck one circle behind the other and this holds them in place too.

How To Open Your Collapsible Hoop
When the Hoop is first opened it will be a bit wonky. That is normal. Just twist gently on the two sides of the connector until your hoop is in a round shape. You may need to push the two ends of the connectors together slightly...this too is normal don't worry the connectors are big your hoop will not come apart!
Many Thanks to Gracie for being the model for this demonstration.
